It is New York Fashion Week and we are seeing some amazing designs, but its also a timely reminder that fashion has many positives and negatives; did you know that the fashion industry is the second most polluting in the world, second only to big oil?
As consumers and makers we can do something to improve this, here's some suggestions, as published in The Guardian:
Joan Crawford: “Care for your clothes like the good friends they are.”
Vivienne Westwood: “Buy less, choose well and make it last.”
Lucy Siegle: “If you aren’t going to wear it at least 30 times, don’t buy it.”
Orsola de Castro: "Demand quality, not just in the product you buy, but in the life of the person who made it."
