Monochrome graphics met Mad Max at SZN highly cohesive and vivid showcase. With dramatically painted white-wash on their faces, the models strode out like dystopian warriors in cage dresses and body harnesses. SZN takes discarded materials and refashions them so they have purpose again. Accessorised with travel-hardy fedoras and military boots, designer Suzan Dlouhy showcased functional shifts, tunics, draped pants and layerable cage overlays for both men and women. The collection also included a number of print leggings featuring photographs taken by Dlouhy, one pair using a close-up photo of fabric—a reflection of her ability to reuse material in innumerable ways. Dlouhy’s resourceful imagination transforms other people’s offcuts into a treasure trove of potential, and her Fashfest debut exemplified this.
