FashFest The Canberra Airport Launch | The Canberran

Suzan Dlouhy of local label SZN gave a short spiel on what the event means to local designers. Suzan, who explores sustainable design through the use of remnants and offcuts in a zero-waste approach to fashion, spoke of the increasingly high standard of work of the local industry. This is particularly important for a debut event – as FashFest will showcase local labels as firstly part of the Canberra community, with the secondary benefit of increased exposure those desingers to a national audience. Have no doubt the second is already occurring – reliable sources inform us the Sydney and Melbourne festivals are watching FashFest very, very closely.
